Wilco Aviation is delighted to present, on an exclusive basis, this 1979 Piper PA-32-300 Cherokee Six to the market. N973SF has benefited from extensive refurbishment in recent years, including a comprehensive suite of avionics upgrades carried out by Bournemouth Avionics at Lee-on-Solent.

This very aircraft made a notable appearance in Marvel’s 2021 blockbuster Black Widow, featuring prominently in the high-energy getaway sequence. For the scene, the production team selected the Cherokee Six for its distinctive profile and classic aesthetic, which suited the film’s blend of realism and cinematic flair. Although it appears to come under fire during the action, rest assured that no harm came to the airframe—every moment of damage and drama was created entirely through digital effects and expert post-production work.

The Piper PA-32-300 Cherokee Six is renowned for its exceptional versatility. Powered by a robust 300 HP Lycoming IO-540 engine and fitted with a two-blade, variable-pitch propeller, the aircraft delivers impressive performance across a broad range of operations. Its excellent short-field capability allows it to operate from grass or hard-surface runways as short as approximately 400 metres, while its substantial useful load—nearly 1,300 lbs—makes it ideal for carrying up to five passengers plus baggage over longer sectors. With a climb rate exceeding 1,000 feet per minute, it reaches its economical cruise speed of roughly 135 knots with ease. Whether used for leisurely hops between rural farm strips or for five-hour cross-country journeys with passengers and luggage, the Cherokee Six consistently proves itself a highly capable touring aircraft. It also enjoys a well-earned reputation as a remarkably stable IFR platform.

The Cherokee Six series is designed with practicality in mind, featuring a nose baggage compartment situated between the cockpit and the engine bay, capable of holding up to 100 lbs. At the rear, a large double door ensures easy boarding and loading, and can accommodate an additional 100 lbs of cargo. This particular example is configured with forward-facing rear seating.

N973SF boasts notably low airframe hours. Cherokee Sixes seldom come to market, and well-equipped 300 HP variants of this calibre are exceptionally hard to find.

All Airworthiness Directives (ADs) and Service Bulletins (SBs) have been fully complied with. Complete airframe logs dating back to 1979, along with comprehensive maintenance records, are available for inspection.

The aircraft is currently based at Lee-on-Solent Airfield, where viewings may be arranged by appointment.
